Also, we borrowed an electric staple gun which I have to say was the best tool I have ever used and it got the job done a lot quicker.
We attached the 2 x 4's to the base.
Then I wrapped the batting around the base and the legs and stapled that on. And then I cut the painter's drop cloth to size and stapled that on. I will say to get a tight stretch that it is easier to have the piece standing up (a two person job) so you don't have wrinkles. This is where the electric staple gun comes in handy.
After stapling fabric.
It looks pretty good and then I felt there was something missing...
so I attached some trim and nail head to the sides of the headboard and got the look I wanted.
Hope you enjoy the final product! I am linking up to some parties out there.

ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteI actually ordered those lamps from JCPenney of all places. They were on sale for like $40 each. I thought they looked liked Pottery Barn for a much cheaper price!
Looks great and like a wonderful place to relax, read a book and have sweet dreams. Loving the lights, too!

Does anyone know what the plywood dimensions would be for a queen sized bed?
ReplyDeletehow did you get it attached to the wall? or is it the mattress holding it up?

ReplyDeleteWow the headboard looks better then most of the ones you can buy in a store.

This is fabulous! How much batting did you need? What measurements would you suggest for a queen? What supports the headboard? The mattress or did you attach it to the wall? Thanks so much.
